To start this project, I first designed modular 3D assets. I modeled, textured, and optimized each building asset. This also included the sitting components, decor pieces, and vehicles (More on the food truck development can be found here: ) I used Blender, Substance Painter, and Photoshop to accomplish the game art task for this virtual experience.

The example scene presented in this portfolio was designed in Sansar.

The level design for this project was based on the location of the food truck. A music venue was built around the idea of a functioning food dispenser. I decided to go with a tribal and etheric theme. The goal was to create a cage-like enclosure. A small space for social gatherings and tours.
I used the wooded assets to lay out the dimensions and feel of the venue. Once the structure was finished, I started plans for the exterior design. The idea is to change out modular assets with matching measurements. This will remove the repetition of the wooden assets. I am also adding 3D and 2D decals to help break up any tiling.
To light the stage I used shot lights for each light bulb. This will also be done for additional lighting sources. Skylights, fog, and filters were also added to this scene.
Presently, this scene has a default skybox. I plan on changing out the default skybox for a custom one.
There are still a lot of assets that need to be made and layers onto the scene.
Stage, sound, and lighting equipment are probably the most important for the theme. I will also design more picnic and public decor.
-Update 8/28/2023
I decided to make this scene visible to Sansar explores. Readers can explore this sim, by following this link:
I have adjusted the lighting of the scene. It is much darker now. The moon now gives off the only natural light and a lot more fog has been added to the scene. I am adding additional light with stage lighting equipment, which I have already started designing and uploading. The scene is much darker now, but will look better for VR explores.
-Update 10/2/2023
I took a break from the project, look like its been close to a month. Now that I am back to level designing, I've decided to change the layout a little. Viewing the scene in VR, I could tell there wasn't enough space between stage seating. I decided to remove some seats to make it more comfortable for VR users. I also made space for my stair assets. Also, the scene was a little too dark...I am brightening the mounted spotlight assets. I also decided to incorporate some light design to better create a mood for the scene.
-Update 12/11/2023
I changed the layout a bit. I designed the floor plan to allow VR users more space for crossing paths. I placed additional sound equipment, throughout the scene. I also added a large awning as a cover for the outdoor venue. Monitors for streaming through YouTube were mounted onto the stage pillars. Visible outputs and hanging wires were added to break the predictability of the scene. Floor mats and yard chairs were added to the venue's general admission area. I also decided the add make space for a small bar for dispensing drinks, once the venue is live. A few additional props for decor and an entrance door will need to be modeled, to make this scene ready for publishing. As a reminder, I designed and placed all assets in this scene.
